Easy candied pecans and walnuts recipe

This simple holiday and year round snack recipe for maple caramelized nuts is made with coconut oil instead of butter so its dairy free yet delicious. you can use all pecans (my fave) or a mix of walnuts and pecans. Its as easy as tossing and roasting for a few minutes! These candied pecans are perfect for last minute Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday potlucks and entertaining. These caramelized nuts can also be refined sugar free if using just coconut sugar and maple syrup so they can be refined sugar free and are a great snack for paleo, vegan and gluten free, dairy free diets.

1.5 cups raw pecans

1/4 cup raw walnuts (or more pecans)

1 2/3 tbsp coconut oil, melted

3 tbsp maple syrup

3/4 tbsp brown sugar or coconut sugar (or granulated sugar, ie regular fine sugar)

optional: good pinch of pumpkin spice or a pinch of sea salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. pline a sheet pan with parchment paper, scatter the nuts and toss in the other ingredients. stir and make the nuts into a single file. bake for 8-9 minutes or until golden but not too brown, tossing once to get them evenly golden brown.
